Irena Adamowicz (1910 - 1963), "Righteous Among the Nations" from Poland. Irena Adamowicz, a member of the Polish Scouts movement (Harcerz Polski), was close to the "Ha - Shomer ha - Tsair" Zionist youth movement, participating in its educational and social activities. During the war, she carried out daring liaison missions for the Jewish underground in the ghettos of Warsaw, Vilnius (Vilna), Bialystok, Kaunas (Kovno) and Siauliai. Besides the important information she transmitted, her visits provided great moral support and encouragement to the isolated ghetto residents. With her aid, connections were maintained between the underground of the Jewish ghettos and the Armia Krajowa Polish underground.
