Joseph Pokempner and his wife Hanna (nee Abelsky from Poniewie?).

They had 10 Children and Zipora was the ninth. Joseph was born in Panevezezys

In  1870. He worked for Conard line booking passage for immigrants leaving the Russian Empire

“De Yiddishe Shmate” in Kovna, a Jewish newspaper. It has announcements of Joseph Pokempner death. He was one of the leaders of Keren Hayesod - United Israel Appeal that was established in London in 1920. He died on 1924

Pakempner Hannah
 Hannah Pakempner nee Abelski was born in Ponevezh, Lithuania in 1871
to Abraham and Etta. She was a widow of Joseph. Prior to WWII she
lived in Ponevezh, Lithuania. During the war was in Ponevezh,
Lithuania. Hannah perished in 1942 in Ponevezh, Lithuania at the age
of 71. This information is based on a Page of Testimony submitted by
her granddaughter Judith Siegal (daughter of her oldest daughter;
Luba Ishlon) Judith was born in Pittsburgh she lives in San Pedro, Ca.

Pokempner Chana
 Chana  Pokempner was born in Lithuania in 1860. Prior to WWII she
lived in Panevezys, Lithuania. During the war was in Panevezys,
Lithuania. Chana perished in Panevezys, Lithuania. This information is
based on a Page of Testimony submitted on
08/-07/1971 by her daughter Zipora of Kfar Bilu
