The Serewitch family of Vilna
Jennifer Hayes wrote;

My grandparents, Yankel and Zina Gurland, were from Vilna. My grandmother's maiden name was Serewitch.

Vilna
1. The picture is of my grandmother's brother-in-law, Motke (?), who belonged to a motorcycle club in Vilna. He saved my grandfather's life by driving him into the forest when the Nazis invaded. When he returned back to save others, he was shot. I don't have my more info other than that. He was married to my Ethel (my grandmother's sister) and I never knew their last name or the name of their child that was sadly killed in the ghetto. My grandmother, Zina and her sister Ethel were in the HKP camp. They were able to escape and hide for the remainder of the war. However, my aunt, Tanya, was taken during a Kinder Aktion on March 27, 1944. We never found out what happen to those children.

2. It shows the only belongings I have of my aunt, Tanya, who was taken on March 27, 1944 from HKP during a Kinder Aktion. I am searching for any records on what happened to those children.
 http://www.searchformajorplagge.com/searchfo.../Welcome.html   Tanya was going to be smuggled out of the HKP camp and pretend to be the daughter of a Polish friend of my grandmother's, but she was taken before that could happen.

3. This is the tombstone of Julia, who saved my grandmother.

4.  My grandma visited Vilna in 1995. The house here is the one she hid in.

Jennifer Hayes I will have to ask my mom about my grandfather's side. She knows more than I do. All I know is that his side was originally from Russia and then moved to Vilna. Also her father's name was Julius? He came from a large family. They scattered before the war broke out. I'll find out. Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it!!!
