Benjamin Anolikwas born in Vilna, Poland in 1926 to Sonia and Moshe.
He had an older brother; Nisan. Binjamin. Benjamin received a jewish

the Soviets took over the area, the family moved to Postavy (now in
Belarus) . In May of 1941 they returned to Vilna. Germany invaded
Russia in June of 1941 and the family was deported to the Vilna
Ghetto. Benjamin was in the Vilna ghetto for 2 years. His mother
worked with the orphaned Jewish children and his father worked outside
the ghetto. His brother worked for the hospital, both in the ghetto.
Benjamin worked for a power company and most of the family had papers
as workers which saved their lives for the time. The grandfather was
old and blind and did not have papers- but was saved many times by the
family. Benjamin was deported with his brother Nisan to a camp in
Estonia.
Benjamin Anolik was saved twice from certain death in Estonia. He was
able to escape from the sixth camp on the day they killed 2,500 Jews.
Both of his parents perished in the camps.

Immediately after the war he worked helping surviving children and
orphans, continuing his work as a member of the Ghetto Fighters
Kibbutz in northern Israel. He returned to Germany several times to
give evidence against Nazi criminals and is today a member of the
International Commission of Justice.
