Rabbi Shlomo Leib Zukerman
Was born in Lebedove in 1912. He received a strong Jewish education and attended the Novohordok Yeshiva. He was greatly influenced
by his teachers; The Staipler Rav z"l, Rabbi Ya'akov Yisrael Kanevski and Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz, the Chazon Ish (born in Kosovo 1878-1953, )
He immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1934 and settled in Bat Yam. He took an active part amongst the ranks of Hahagana. Was an officer and a leader of the troop defending Bat Yam during the Independence war. He received a high award for his service.
Shortly after the war he moved to Kfar HaRoeh,a religious moshav and the home of a Bnei Akiva yeshiva
With the help of the Sochnut, he Established Kfar Yakir, an Aliyah Youth Village in Kfar HaRoeh. Youth from all over the world arrived; orphaned children who survived the holocaust, some of the "Teheran Children", Children from North Africa, Syria, Iraq and Yemen as well as Youth from the western world. It was later named "Ben Yakir"
During the 1950s' he established an agricultural Yeshiva. amongst his students were; Maj. General Aharon Zeevi Farkash, Director of Military Intelligence, Rabbis, Professors and spiritual leaders. He passed away in 2004.
