Berson - Zimmer Rivka - Riva and Cepelowic Milka, Druya.

In about two weeks we heard rumors that the Loshkie ghetto had been liquidated.  The next morning Hannah Tzepalovitch and Bierele Berson came to us having escaped from the destruction of the Loshkie ghetto.  They had good friends in the Dzina ghetto and  [we] were anxious to seem them.  I spoke with them and learned the horrors and tragedy of the final days of the Loshkie ghetto..

My family came to the United States before the second
world war, hailing from the towns of Plissa,
Germanovitch, Lushky, and Glebokie.  [The names were
Berzon, Mindlin, and Shub].  It seems like you are
quite knowledgeable in this area, and I hope you can
help me.
I have only a few surviving relatives from that area,
and they moved to Israel in 1958.  They currently live
in Rishon LeTzion.  One of my cousins just emailed me,
hoping to learn if there is any current Jewish
presence -- even the remnants of a Jewish cemetery --
in that area today.  They are going with Rabbi Pesach
Krohn on a trip to visit Lithuanian yeshivas, but have
an opportunity to return to the Plissa, etc. area.
They have asked me if I have any knowledge of what the
area might be like today.  I checked out the Jewish
Gen project and saw your information.  I would be
very, very grateful for any information you might
have.
Warmly,
Akiva.
